Joe Willis, is the Curriculum Development Officer for the Matawa Education and Care Centre (MECC) and has been working with the school since 2019. He entered this position in 2020 and ever since, has been working to make meaningful community connections. Joe is constantly facilitating with our school staff, Knowledge Keepers and Elder’s to create reflective curriculum to be available to our students and educators. After completing his Master's of Education (MEd) in Social Justice Education in 2023, he is continuously striving to put his efforts into decolonizing education, and provide opportunities of success for Indigenous students.
