Dr. Keri Cheechoo (she/her) is an Iskwew from the community of Long Lake #58 First Nation, which is in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. She is a mom, a Kookum (grandmother), and scholar who works to both resist and subvert systemic, structural and institutional racisms. Dr. Cheechoo is a Cree scholar who uses poetic inquiry (an arts-based methodology) in a good way that connects her spiritual aptitude for writing with educational research.
