Corine Bannon is a Native Language Teacher with the Lakehead Public School Board with over 10 years experience and teaches several courses through the Keewatinase Program, Department of Indigenous Education at Lakehead University. She is dedicated to teaching the Ojibwe Language using many teaching strategies for language retention and Anishinaabemowin revitalization. Corine has a passion for building community relationships to build cultural and traditional hands-on learning experiences that enforce resiliency and empowerment in her students. Corine continues to mentor students from the Onajigawin Indigenous Services from Confederation College, she supports student teachers from Lakehead University’s Education Program in her classroom, and teaches Native Language in her community of Fort William First Nation.
